Post-Publication Discussion

BARISTA: Jurnal Kajian Bahasa dan Pariwisata recognizes the importance of scholarly discussion and continued academic dialogue after an article has been published. The journal provides opportunities for readers, researchers, authors, and other members of the academic community to raise questions, provide constructive comments, and discuss published research.

Purpose

Post-publication discussion is intended to:

  • encourage constructive scholarly dialogue;

  • clarify methodological, theoretical, or factual issues in published articles;

  • provide opportunities for authors to respond to substantive academic comments;

  • identify potential errors or concerns that may affect the integrity of the published work; and

  • contribute to the continuous improvement of the scholarly record.

Submission of Comments

Readers and researchers who wish to comment on a published article may contact the Editorial Board through the journal's official communication channel. Comments should:

  • clearly identify the article being discussed, including its title, authors, and publication details;

  • present a clear and specific academic argument or concern;

  • be supported by relevant evidence or references where appropriate;

  • maintain a professional and respectful academic tone; and

  • focus on the content, methodology, interpretation, or implications of the published work.

Comments that contain personal attacks, defamatory statements, discriminatory language, or unsupported accusations will not be considered for publication.

Author Response

When appropriate, the authors of the original article may be invited to respond to substantive comments or concerns. The response should address the issues objectively and provide clarification, additional evidence, or corrections where necessary.

The Editorial Board may publish the comment and author response when they are considered to make a meaningful contribution to scholarly discussion.

Post-Publication Corrections and Concerns

If a post-publication discussion identifies a potential error or issue affecting the reliability of a published article, the Editorial Board will assess the matter in accordance with the journal's editorial and publication ethics policies.

Depending on the nature and severity of the issue, the journal may publish:

  • a Correction when an error does not invalidate the main findings;

  • an Expression of Concern when substantial concerns require further investigation; or

  • a Retraction when the published work is found to be unreliable or involves serious ethical or research misconduct.

The journal may consult the authors, reviewers, affiliated institutions, or other relevant parties when necessary.

Editorial Oversight

All post-publication discussions are subject to editorial assessment. The Editorial Board reserves the right to moderate discussions to ensure that they remain relevant, evidence-based, respectful, and consistent with academic and publication ethics standards.
