Manuscript Types
The Journal of Event, Travel and Tour Management (JETT) welcomes scholarly manuscripts that contribute to the advancement of knowledge, theory, and practice in event management and tour and travel management. The journal publishes research and scholarly studies that address relevant issues, emerging trends, and practical challenges in the event, travel, and tourism industries.
JETT encourages submissions that demonstrate academic rigor, originality, methodological appropriateness, and clear implications for research, industry practice, and policy development.
1. Research Articles
Research Articles report original empirical or analytical research that contributes to the development of knowledge in event management and tour and travel management.
These manuscripts may employ quantitative, qualitative, or mixed-methods approaches, as appropriate to the research objectives.
Topics may include, but are not limited to:
-
Event planning, operations, and strategic management.
-
Meeting, Incentive, Convention, and Exhibition (MICE) management.
-
Event marketing, visitor experience, and event evaluation.
-
Tourism transportation, airline services, and travel behavior.
-
Tour operations, tour package development, and travel services.
-
Digital transformation and technological innovation in event and travel management.
-
Consumer behavior, service quality, and destination-related travel experiences.
Research Articles should clearly present the research problem, relevant literature, research methods, findings, discussion, conclusions, and implications.
2. Review Articles
Review Articles provide a critical and systematic examination of existing literature on a relevant topic in event management or tour and travel management.
The manuscript should synthesize findings from previous studies, identify patterns and research gaps, evaluate theoretical or methodological developments, and propose directions for future research.
Review Articles may include systematic literature reviews, scoping reviews, and other rigorous forms of evidence synthesis. Authors must clearly explain their review methodology, including the search strategy, selection criteria, and approach to analysis, where applicable.
A review article should provide a meaningful synthesis and critical contribution rather than merely summarize previously published studies.
3. Conceptual Articles
Conceptual Articles develop, evaluate, or extend theoretical perspectives, conceptual frameworks, or models relevant to event management and tour and travel management.
These manuscripts should be grounded in relevant scholarly literature and present a clear theoretical argument, a logical conceptual development, and implications for future research or professional practice.
Conceptual Articles may address emerging issues, propose new relationships between concepts, or offer alternative perspectives on established challenges in the event and travel industries.
4. Case Study Articles
Case Study Articles provide an in-depth analysis of a specific organization, event, destination, travel service, business practice, or industry-related situation.
A case study should establish a clear research purpose, explain the case selection and data collection procedures, present a structured analysis, and discuss lessons that may be relevant beyond the particular case.
Where human participants, confidential organizational information, or sensitive data are involved, authors must ensure appropriate ethical safeguards and permissions.
Case studies should offer analytical insights and evidence-based implications rather than consist solely of descriptive accounts.
5. Research and Industry Practice Implications
Regardless of manuscript type, submissions should demonstrate relevance to the journal's focus and scope and make a clear contribution to scholarly understanding or professional practice.
Manuscripts should identify their principal findings or arguments, explain their significance, and discuss implications for event organizers, travel operators, tourism businesses, researchers, policymakers, or other relevant stakeholders, as appropriate.
