Post-Publication Discussion and Corrections Policy
Post-Publication Discussion and Corrections Policy
The Journal of Event, Travel and Tour Management (JETT) supports scholarly discussion and constructive academic exchange after publication. The journal recognizes that post-publication discussion contributes to the development of knowledge, the evaluation of research findings, and the maintenance of an accurate and reliable scholarly record.
JETT welcomes evidence-based comments, questions, and critiques concerning articles published in the journal, provided that these contributions are presented professionally and comply with the principles of academic integrity.
1. Scope of Post-Publication Discussion
Post-publication discussion may address:
-
The validity, interpretation, or significance of published research findings.
-
Research methods, analytical approaches, or theoretical arguments.
-
Errors, inconsistencies, or omissions that may affect the interpretation of an article.
-
Relevant evidence or scholarly perspectives that contribute to further understanding of the published work.
-
Concerns regarding research integrity, publication ethics, or the reliability of published information.
All contributions should be relevant to the article under discussion and supported by appropriate evidence or scholarly reasoning.
2. Submission of Comments and Responses
Readers and researchers who wish to comment on a published article may contact the JETT editorial office through the journal's official communication channels.
Submissions should include:
-
The title, author, publication year, and available DOI or URL of the article concerned.
-
A clear explanation of the issue, comment, or question being raised.
-
Supporting evidence and relevant references, where applicable.
-
The name and institutional affiliation of the contributor, where applicable.
The editorial team may invite the original author or authors to respond to substantive comments. Responses should address the issues raised objectively and contribute constructively to scholarly discussion.
3. Editorial Assessment
All proposed post-publication contributions are subject to editorial assessment before publication or further action.
The editorial team will consider the relevance, accuracy, originality, scholarly value, and professional tone of the submission. Where necessary, the journal may seek advice from independent experts.
JETT reserves the right to request revisions, decline unsuitable submissions, or take other appropriate action in accordance with its editorial policies.
4. Corrections to Published Articles
When an error is identified in a published article, the editorial team will assess its nature and potential impact on the accuracy and interpretation of the scholarly record.
Minor errors that do not materially affect the findings or conclusions may be addressed through an appropriate correction notice or other editorial mechanism.
Errors that substantially affect the interpretation, reliability, or conclusions of an article will receive further assessment, and more significant corrective action may be necessary.
Corrections will be clearly identified and linked to the original article whenever technically feasible, so that readers can understand what has changed and why.
5. Expressions of Concern and Retractions
If credible concerns arise regarding the reliability or integrity of a published article and cannot be resolved promptly, JETT may consider publishing an expression of concern.
Where an investigation establishes that an article should no longer be relied upon, the journal may retract the article in accordance with its publication ethics and retraction procedures.
Editorial decisions will be based on the available evidence, the seriousness of the concern, and the need to protect the integrity of the scholarly record.
6. Ethical Standards and Professional Conduct
All post-publication discussions must comply with standards of academic integrity, fairness, and professional conduct.
Contributors must avoid defamatory statements, personal attacks, unsupported allegations, and the disclosure of confidential or personal information that is not appropriate for publication.
Concerns involving suspected research misconduct should be submitted through the journal's established research misconduct reporting procedures rather than treated solely as general academic commentary.
7. Transparency and Record Maintenance
JETT aims to maintain transparency in the handling of substantive post-publication comments, author responses, corrections, expressions of concern, and retractions.
Where a post-publication contribution or editorial notice is published, it should be linked to the relevant article whenever possible. The journal will maintain appropriate records of editorial actions to support accountability and the integrity of the publication record.
8. Editorial Independence
All post-publication contributions are assessed on their scholarly merit and relevance. Editorial decisions will not be influenced by personal relationships, institutional affiliations, commercial considerations, or pressure from interested parties.
JETT is committed to facilitating constructive scholarly dialogue while protecting the accuracy, credibility, and integrity of published research.
9. Policy Review
The editorial team will review this policy periodically and update it when necessary to reflect developments in scholarly communication and publication ethics.
