New submissions to Jurnal Kepariwisataan (JK) are temporarily closed

Dear Colleagues and Prospective Authors,

Jurnal Kepariwisataan : Destinasi, Hospitalitas, Perjalanan (JK) will temporarily close to new manuscript submissions, effective date 12 September 2026 until further notice.

The reason is due to submission volume over recent months has substantially exceeded our review capacity, and the queue of manuscripts awaiting assessment has grown to a point where we can no longer guarantee the turnaround times authors are entitled to expect. Rather than continue accepting work we cannot process promptly, we have chosen to pause intake and clear the backlog. We consider a timely, careful review to be part of what we owe authors, and a queue that keeps lengthening serves no one.

What this means in practice:

1. New submissions will not be accepted through the submission system during this period. Manuscripts received after 12 September will be returned without assessment.

2. Manuscripts already submitted are unaffected. All papers currently under review, under revision, or awaiting a decision will proceed through the normal editorial process. If your manuscript is in the system, you need take no action, and we will continue to correspond with you as usual.

3. Revised manuscripts invited by an editor remain welcome throughout the suspension. If you have received a revise-and-resubmit decision, please submit your revision as instructed; the suspension does not apply to you.

We expect the suspension to last approximately 1 (one) Volume until 2027, though we will reopen only when the queue has reduced to a level that allows us to resume proper service. An announcement will be posted on the journal website and circulated to our mailing list when submissions reopen. We would encourage you to subscribe to journal alerts / follow the journal page if you wish to be notified directly.
