Artificial Intelligence (AI) Policy

MP : Masyarakat Pariwisata recognizes the increasing use of Artificial Intelligence (AI) and AI-assisted technologies in academic research and scholarly publishing. The journal permits the responsible use of AI tools while maintaining the principles of academic integrity, transparency, originality, accountability, and research ethics.
1. Responsible Use of AI

Authors may use AI-assisted tools to support activities such as:

language improvement and grammar correction;

spelling and punctuation checking;

translation assistance;

improving clarity and readability;

organizing or formatting text; and

other limited editorial or technical assistance.

The use of AI tools must not replace the author's intellectual contribution, critical thinking, research judgment, or responsibility for the content of the manuscript.
2. Authors' Responsibility

Authors remain fully responsible for the accuracy, originality, integrity, and ethical aspects of their manuscripts, regardless of whether AI tools were used during the research or writing process.

Authors must:

verify all information generated or suggested by AI tools;

ensure that references and citations are accurate and genuinely support the claims made;

check for potential plagiarism or inappropriate reuse of existing material;

ensure that the manuscript does not contain fabricated or misleading information;

protect confidential, personal, proprietary, or sensitive information when using AI tools; and

comply with all applicable research and publication ethics requirements.

AI tools must not be considered authors or co-authors because they cannot take responsibility for the content, disclose conflicts of interest, or provide final approval of the manuscript.
3. Disclosure of AI Use

Authors should disclose the use of AI or AI-assisted technologies when such tools have been used substantially in the preparation, analysis, or development of the manuscript.

The disclosure should identify:

the AI tool or system used;

the purpose for which it was used; and

the general nature of the assistance provided.

For example:

AI Use Disclosure: The authors used [name of AI tool] to assist with language editing and improvement of the manuscript. The authors reviewed and verified all AI-assisted content and remain fully responsible for the final manuscript.

Routine use of basic spelling, grammar, or reference-management tools that does not generate substantive content may not require a separate disclosure, although authors remain responsible for the accuracy of the resulting manuscript.
4. AI-Generated Content

Authors must not submit AI-generated content as original scholarly work without appropriate human review, verification, and disclosure where required.

AI-generated text, data, references, images, tables, or other materials must be carefully checked before inclusion in a manuscript.

Authors are responsible for ensuring that AI-assisted content does not:

contain fabricated facts or references;

misrepresent research findings;

infringe copyright or other intellectual property rights;

violate privacy or confidentiality
